Avairios Sloth Sanctuary

Aviarios Sloth Sanctuary is primarily comprised of an educational learning center offering tours to the public and a rescue center with Slothpital (medical facilities) and homes for over a hundred sloths who are recovering from illness, injury or who cannot survive independently in the wild. Because the primary focus of the Centre is the welfare of the animals in care, most of the sloths are not on display to the public. 

However, our tour does offer close contact with several of our special sloth ambassadors (including the famous Buttercup!), a tour of our new nursery facilities (baby sloths!), and an excellent chance to see many of the wild sloths, birds and other wildlife that frequent the area.

Aviarios also offers a small boutique hotel, and gift shop, with all proceeds going to keeping our primary educational and rescue operations going.

It’s true! In addition to our world-famous sloths, Aviarios has a small, boutique hotel within the Sanctuary. Imagine yourself waking up in a tropical garden to the singing of birds and the distant sounds of rainforest animals starting their day.
